Apply your post-doctoral training in the clinical aspects of platelet/leukocyte immunobiology and HLA, as you provide scientific support for the TRALI/Platelet Immunology Laboratory, ensuring compliance with all standards of practice, as outlined by the Manitoba Quality Assurance Program (MANQAP), other accreditation bodies and Health Canada regulations. In this Winnipeg-based role, you will manage the national TRALI lab program and national platelet donor registry, as well as propose, develop and oversee the introduction of new technological advances. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential, to act as the laboratory consultant for clinical physicians in hospitals, and be involved in the training of technical and medical staff and students. You are a PhD with a subspecialty in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry or another field related to laboratory medicine, and bring a minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a blood transfusion/immunogenetics clinical laboratory, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Similar qualifications from a university of another country may be accepted if approved by the MANQAP committee. This position will also give you the opportunity to participate in international workshops and recognized proficiency programs.
